The Department of Computer Engineering was established by the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette numbered 27984 (2nd Repeated) on July 4, 2011, within the Faculty of Engineering-Architecture of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University.
In the new social structure called the information society, information technologies are used in almost every field to meet the needs of society. In this context, Computer Engineering, which is at the center of all science branches, is the engineering branch that designs, develops information systems with various software, and includes the management of these systems.
Students graduating from the department have the opportunity to work as software developers, database experts, quality and test engineers, project managers, system analysts, system and network experts in information processing centers, and web-based software developers in various R&D companies.

Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Department of Computer Engineering started education in the 2015-2016 academic year with a strong and experienced academic staff. We plan to shape our curriculum in line with contemporary requirements and by taking the opinions of academics who have a career in this field and top-level informatics professionals from the business world. Thus, we will implement an education program that will equip our students with the most up-to-date information and quickly adapt to working life at the first stage of this process.
We believe that the graduates of Mehmet Akif Ersoy Computer Engineering Department, who set out with this determination and strength, will have a say in the field of Informatics and fill an important gap.
