About the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering

With the senate proposal numbered 238/7 dated 03.12.2014 of the Rectorate of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, it was decided that it was appropriate to open the Department of Electrical Engineering after being examined at the executive board meeting of the Higher Education Council Presidency dated 31.12.2014. With the proposal of our University Senate, the department name was changed to Electrical-Electronics Engineering in September 2017.
Our department, which is planned to admit students in the 2018-2019 academic year, has a study language of Turkish and the duration of study is 8 semesters (4 years). Students who successfully complete the four-year education program are awarded a bachelor's degree and receive the title of Electrical-Electronics Engineer. Students who prefer our department can optionally attend the English Preparatory Program for one year at our university's School of Foreign Languages.
The aim of the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University is to train engineers who are open to new developments with a continuous education consciousness; who solve Electrical Engineering problems at national and international levels, design projects on these issues, manage them within the framework of ethical rules, and implement these projects by mastering the social, economic, political, legal and environmental consequences of their activities.
The working environment of the graduates of the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering varies over a wide range. There are wide job opportunities based on design, project planning, sales representation, consultancy, customer service and relations in other public and private organizations that support the industry, such as manufacturing of electric machines and power transformers, control and automation systems, power electronics industry, high voltage switchgear, cable industry, lighting equipment industry.
