Industrial Engineering is an engineering field that deals with the design, establishment, control, and development of integrated systems consisting of human, machine, material, and information for the effective use of resources.
It has an interdisciplinary structure due to its inclusion of not only basic engineering sciences but also information systems and social sciences. In the production and service sectors, research on the effective use of resources brings together technology, engineering sciences, and social sciences. Therefore, Industrial Engineers have a wide range of work opportunities. Graduates of the department can be employed in many different sectors such as manufacturing, communication, transportation, software, tourism, health. Within these sectors, they generally serve in managerial positions in areas such as production planning, quality control, system design, project management, software development.
The Department of Industrial Engineering at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University was established within the Faculty of Engineering-Architecture by the Higher Education Council's letter dated 07.05.2013 and numbered 23401.
