About the Department of Industrial Engineering

Mehmet Akif Ersoy University's Department of Industrial Engineering aims to train students who can take part in the design, implementation, and development of systems and processes in the service, production, public, and R&D sectors, contribute to disciplined and innovative projects with industrial engineering criteria such as efficiency, risk, quality, cost, and manage these projects with social and ethical values.
The language of instruction in our department is Turkish and the duration of education is 8 semesters (4 years). Students who successfully complete the four-year education program are awarded a bachelor's degree and receive the title of Industrial Engineer.
Industrial Engineering is a discipline where its graduates have wider employment opportunities compared to other engineering fields. The working areas of Industrial Engineers, who integrate technical sciences with social sciences, cover a wide range of areas from high-tech manufacturing industry to banking and insurance services and from tourism to the health sector. In these sectors, graduates are employed in areas such as Planning-Budgeting, Quality Planning, System Organization, Human Resources Management, Production Planning, Information Processing, Research-Development, Financial Analysis, Logistics Systems Management, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Project Planning and Control, Training Planning, Software Expertise. Therefore, Industrial Engineering, which has been one of the popular professions since its establishment, will continue to be one of the demanded professions in the future.
