Workshop on Engineering Education, ABET Accreditation and Compliance was held

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and serving in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Automotive Main Science Branch Prof. Dr. Ahmet UYUMAZ's conducted TÜBİTAK 2221 ''Guest or Academic Sabbatical Scientist Support Program'' within the scope of the workshop on ''Engineering Education, ABET Accreditation and Compliance'' was held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The event, attended by the faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, started with a brief information about the project by the project manager Prof. Dr. Ahmet UYUMAZ and the introduction of Prof. Dr. Nadir YILMAZ from Howard University Department of Mechanical Engineering. Our guest faculty member Prof. Dr. Nadir YILMAZ made a presentation on the engineering education system in the United States, general criteria within the scope of ABET Accreditation, program criteria, and differentiation, leadership, and originality in education to adapt to the evolving engineering science. In the event, where the participants actively participated through a question-and-answer method, ideas were exchanged on improving engineering education, methods for students to actively participate in education, and the use of new technologies in engineering sciences. At the end of the program, our faculty dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet UYUMAZ presented a plaque to Prof. Dr. Nadir YILMAZ for his efforts and valuable support in organizing the event. The event, which was held in a very beneficial manner, ended with good wishes and greetings.
