Yayın Tarihi | 16 May 2025, Friday

Our university's Architecture Department organized a technical trip to the historical districts of Akseki and İbradı in Antalya with the aim of preserving and promoting the local architectural heritage.

During the event held with the theme “Construction Techniques and Materials in Traditional Architecture,” the region-specific “buttoned house” architecture was observed on-site. This traditional construction system, which uses stone and wood materials together, was analyzed in detail both technically and aesthetically. Thanks to field studies, students not only gained knowledge about traditional construction techniques but also raised awareness about the preservation of cultural heritage.

During the technical trip, oral history studies were also conducted by interacting with the local people. In this way, students had the opportunity to understand the architectural structures not only physically but also in their socio-cultural dimension.
