Within our faculty, a series of events themed "Labor Law, Engineering Ethics, and Interdisciplinary Work" were held to enhance the professional competencies of future engineers.
The importance of labor law in engineering, employment contracts, the role of engineers in legal processes, professional ethics, fundamental values such as honesty and trust, and the significance of teamwork conducted with our students from different disciplines were addressed. Interactive presentations, case analyses, and joint project group work ensured active participation of students in the process during the events.
Regarding Labor Law, Öğr. Gör. Müşerref ÇOKSAK from the Social Sciences Vocational School provided valuable information to our students, while Prof. Dr. Hale SEÇİLMİŞ from the Faculty of Science and Letters shared insights on Engineering Ethics. Following the trainings on Labor Law and Engineering Ethics, our faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet UYUMAZ and our Faculty Vice Dean Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Ahmet ÇİFCİ presented certificates of appreciation to the instructors for their efforts and valuable support. After the two events, our students from different disciplines came together to form teams and conducted a joint project work related to the creation of the project, task distribution in projects, and finalization of projects. The interdisciplinary work conducted under the supervision of our instructors was completed in a very efficient and purposeful manner.
Through these events, our students became more equipped to handle legal and ethical situations they may encounter in their professional lives; they also gained awareness of the place and importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in engineering projects.
