Technical and Cultural Trip from the Electrical-Electronics Engineering Community: Ermetal Automotive, GUHEM, and Bursa Visit

Electrical-Electronics Engineering Community organized a comprehensive event bringing together industry and technology on Friday, November 22, 2024. The program, which started with a technical tour to Ermetal Automotive and Goods Industry Trade Inc. factory and then a visit to Gökmen Space Aviation Training Center (GUHEM), concluded with the exploration of Bursa's historical and touristic sites. The tour was organized under the coordination of the community's Academic Advisor Dr. Lecturer Ahmet ÇİFCİ.

The event was attended by the Head of the Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asım Gökhan YETGİN, Res. Asst. Ramazan GÜNDÜZ, and community members. At the first stop of the program, Ermetal Automotive and Goods Industry Trade Inc., information was received about the factory's production processes, advanced engineering applications, and technological innovations in the automotive sector under the guidance of Ermetal Group Training Officer Yüksel ÇETİN. Students had the opportunity to observe their theoretical knowledge in the production environment.

After the factory visit, Gökmen Space Aviation Training Center (GUHEM), Turkey's first space-themed training center, was visited. At GUHEM, students had the opportunity to closely examine the basic principles of space and aviation technologies and Turkey's advancements in this field. The experiences at the training center, supported by interactive exhibitions and simulations, had a significant impact on the participants and increased awareness in this area.

In the last part of the day, participants joined a city tour to explore the historical and cultural riches of Bursa. The historical sites and natural beauties of Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, were visited with interest by both students and academicians.
