Comprehensive Technical Trip to Antalya by Our Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students
Yapılış Tarihi | 27 April 2026, Monday
The students of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of our Faculty organized a technical trip to the heart of the energy sector in Antalya to reinforce their theoretical education with field experience. The technical trip, organized on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, within the scope of the Power System Analysis course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet ÇİFCİ, was also attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül TAŞÇIOĞLU, one of our department's faculty members. Within the comprehensive trip program, the TEİAŞ 19th Regional Directorate, Antalya Varsak Substation, Load Dispatch Center, and the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO) were visited.
During the visit to the TEİAŞ 19th Regional Directorate, the first stop of the trip, a seminar was held for our students by Deputy Regional Manager Berat Samet SAĞIR and the expert electrical and electronics engineers working at the institution. In the seminar, valuable information was shared regarding Turkey's energy transmission infrastructure, grid management, and engineering problems encountered in the field.
Following the seminar, our students moved on to field inspections at the Antalya Varsak Substation and the Load Dispatch Center. Under the guidance of expert engineers, our students had the opportunity to examine the 380 kV Switchyard, 154 kV Switchyard, 33 kV Switchyard, and the Load Dispatch Center Area in detail. Through the observations made at these critical facilities, our students experienced firsthand the real-life high-voltage applications of the theoretical formulations and grid analyses they learned in the Power System Analysis course.
In the final stage of the technical trip, a meaningful visit was made to the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO). Our students, the engineer candidates of the future, had the chance to expand their professional networks by receiving information about the activities of the professional chamber.
We would like to thank our faculty members who organized this highly productive event that greatly contributed to the professional visions of our students; and we express our gratitude to the officials of the TEİAŞ 19th Regional Directorate, the employees of the Varsak Substation and the Load Dispatch Center, and the management of EMO for sharing their knowledge and experiences with our students.
